Fremantle Press

March 2026

BallPoint were eager to transform the long‑disused historic SEC Substation in Fremantle it into a new abode for Fremantle Press. With experience delivering works within heritage‑listed buildings, BallPoint ensured that significant historical features were retained and meaningfully integrated into the new fit‑out.

A bespoke reception area welcomes visitors with a cosy waiting and reading nook, while the arched-entry hallways and boardroom walls feature custom shelving designed to highlight the Press’s published works. Additional features include a dedicated podcast room with acoustic wall and ceiling panelling, flexible workstation space, inviting boardroom and meeting facilities. Heritage elements such as a revamped barn door, original ceiling tracks and feature windows sit alongside new additions including custom glazing film and a glazed sliding cavity boardroom door.
The building’s façade also received a thoughtful refresh, creating a warm and inviting entry for all incomers.
